At ZenPaws we strive to provide the highest quality grooming service for your dog’s comfort and well-being. However, in cases where matting is present, it is important to understand the following:
Risk of Matting Removal: Matting can be harmful to your dog’s skin, causing irritation, sores, or infection if left untreated. While we take great care in the grooming process, removal of matts may require close clipping, which can expose underlying skin issues or cause discomfort. Please be aware that there is an increased risk of nicks, cuts, or irritation when removing matts due to the tension matts put on the skin. We cannot be held responsible for any adverse reactions or skin issues that may arise from matt removal process. We will prioritise the health and comfort of your dog during the de-matting process.
Shaving May Be Necessary: In some cases, the only humane and safe option to remove severe matting is to shave the affected areas. Shaving may change your dog’s appearance and may cause temporary irritation or sensitivity. We will always consult with you before proceeding with this option.
Increased Grooming Costs: Extra time and effort may be required to safely remove mats, which can result in additional grooming fees. We will discuss any additional costs with you before proceeding.
Client Responsibility: Regular grooming and brushing at home can prevent matting and maintain your dog’s coat health. We recommend scheduling regular grooming sessions to avoid matting issues.
By leaving your dog in our care for grooming, you acknowledge and understand the risks associated with removing mats, including potential skin irritation or injury. Our priority is your dog’s health and well-being, and we will take all necessary steps to ensure their safety and comfort.
